Warrenpoint-based Pflexx Sports is targeting new business across Great Britain, Europe and the US, with support from Invest Northern Ireland.
The company’s £90,000 investment will see Pflexx Sports undertake online advertising and key customer visits over the next two years in a bid to build brand awareness. It also plans to recruit a new marketing manager and a technical support worker to help generate new export sales.
Invest NI has offered Pflexx Sports £32,000 of support towards its market development activities. The agency also assisted Pflexx with the research and development of its Knee Pflexx product, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
Pflexx Sports has already signed up a number of distributors across Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Poland and Slovenia following the launch of its innovative sports performance product last year. The Knee Pflexx product uses patented bio-mechanical muscle activation technology and is targeted at sporting professionals.
Commenting on the investment, Mark Bleakney, Invest NI’s Southern Regional Manager said: “Pflexx Sports has received considerable acclaim among its target audience since launching its Knee Pflexx product to market last year. Its investment signals the latest stage of this company’s development.
“Pflexx Sports has identified a niche in the global sports and active leisure markets for a collection of personal exercise products which focus on rehabilitation, reconditioning and strengthening of muscles. Enhancing its sales and marketing capabilities will help propel this export driven business into the global sports arena.”

“Invest NI’s R&D assistance, combined with the support for our market development activities will help us to grow our position among customers across Great Britain and Europe and target new business in the US.”
