Invest NI will host a Trade Mission to Chile & Argentina in March 2018. This will be a multi-sector mission and an opportunity for companies to meet with buyers, distributors and partners in two of the largest and fastest growing economies in Latin America, the fourth largest economy in the world.

Many Northern Ireland companies are already exporting to the region and this mission will provide support both for new companies seeking market entry or existing exporters seeking new opportunities/partners.

Chile’s economy is driven by the exceptional exports of the mining industry and agricultural products, and consistently ranks with one of the highest growth rates in the world. This creates a very stable and wealthy economy, with investments across all trade sectors, and the spending power and living standard expectations of one of the largest middle class in Latin America. Chile has free trade agreements with 61 countries (inc UK), with a long term strategy of modernisation and import of new products and technologies.

Argentina is the third largest economy in Latin America, a highly industrial nation, driven by exports of the oil & gas, mining industry and agricultural products. Argentina experienced a change of government implementing significant economic development reforms and re-opening the economy to imports and international payments. The government is investing over US$ 265 billion into infrastructure (roads, airports, ports etc), energy & mining, agri business, healthcare and ICT.

Companies who have exceeded their De Minimis aid limit will be unable to claim assistance towards travel, accommodation and in-market support for this mission. The maximum De Minimis aid any single recipient can receive is €200,000 (cash grant equivalent) over a 3 year fiscal period.
