Why AXA set up in Derry~Londonderry
AXA established a customer contact centre in Derry in 2007 with plans to create 150 jobs across insurance sales, broker sales and claims handling.
The new centre was established to allow the company to build on its existing presence in Northern Ireland and grow business across both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Derry was chosen for a variety of reasons most notably, its connectivity, AXA’s existing presence in the city through its retail branch, the expansive range of skillsets and the strong progressive and innovative spirit of both local management, employees and the wider community.
How the Derry operation contributed to AXA’s continued growth and success?
AXA has had a long and positive history in Derry since that initial investment.
As consumer trends, expectations, and desired methods of engaging with companies continues to evolve, having a Customer Centre of Excellence was of critical importance to AXA locally. The Derry centre has rapidly become a central element of the company’s multi-channel customer engagement model across telephony, email and traditional hard-copy post.
The company currently employs around 600 people in Derry. The range of skills and jobs includes customer service, claims management and human resources. Axa have also expanded the technology roles by creating IT testing teams, improved business efficiency through introduction of robotic process automation developers and product development roles focused on agile methodologies and leveraging customer feedback to enhance sales and service journeys.
