What are the next generation of entrepreneurs up to?

Some of the winners of the Sentinus Young Innovators Programme came along to Invest NI recently to talk about their projects and get some advice on developing their business ideas.

Listen as Joel Cuddy from Cookstown High School explains DavaghNav, winner of the Invest NI Award for Commercial Potential.

What is Sentinus?

Sentinus Young Innovators Programme, sponsored by Invest NI, aims to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects to young people and inspire them to consider careers in these areas.

The young entrepreneurs presented an overview of their projects and had meetings with Invest NI technical experts to discuss how to develop their projects further and how to go about getting intellectual property protection.

Erin Bennett from St Mary’s High School, Limavady won Invest NI’s I-SWEEP award for her project ‘Asthma Acoustics’ which involves the development of a teaching, analysis and evaluation tool for clinicians so that they can assess the acoustics of an asthma sufferer to help improve their condition.

Erin will go on to represent Northern Ireland at I-SWEEP international Science Fair in Houston, Texas May 2015.
