Carrickfergus software firm secures first export contract with support from Invest NI

Co. Antrim software firm Quality Manufacturing Systems (QMS) has secured its first export contract in the Republic of Ireland, following support from Invest Northern Ireland.

As a result of extensive marketing activity, a Dublin based medical devices manufacturer, Flexi Med Ltd, has become the first RoI customer for the 123insight management system. This contract will support QMS in its aim to grow sales outside Northern Ireland.

The Carrickfergus-based software business, owned by Drew McCoubrey, is the sole Irish license holder for the 123insight Manufacturing Enterprise Management system, which it supplies to businesses in the manufacturing and processing sectors.

Invest NI offered support towards QMS’s investment to develop sales outside Northern Ireland. The company conducted a series of free evaluation workshops throughout RoI, inviting potential customers along to view how the software works and how it could benefit their business.

Gren Armstrong, Invest NI’s North Eastern Regional Office Manager, commented: “This first export contract is encouraging news for such a recently established business. Drew is a talented entrepreneur and quickly recognised the growth potential in expanding QMS’s product offering to new markets. The investment will help QMS to build on this success and secure further sales in RoI.”

Drew McCoubrey, owner of Quality Management Systems, commented: “A key selling point of this software is that it is available on a pay as you go, no contract basis. So in the current climate, when businesses have a reduced cash flow, this is a readily accessible product which can benefit a company’s bottom line. Invest NI has helped to progress our marketing strategy and grow export sales. I am confident that this contract with Flexi Med will enhance our position in RoI and encourage other potential customers to investigate how this software could benefit their business.”
