Co. Armagh engineering firm expands business to Poland
Moira based Lloyd Acoustics Ltd plans to target £870,000 worth of sales in Poland over the next two years following an investment supported by Invest Northern Ireland.
Established in 1992, Lloyd Acoustics Ltd provides specialist Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring consultancy services to building and civil engineering companies across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Lloyd Acoustics has invested over £80,000 to capitalise on emerging business opportunities in Poland as the nation prepares to host the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship. Invest NI offered Lloyd Acoustics £13,500, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which will help the company to secure contracts linked to new road infrastructure and construction projects.
As part of its overall investment, Lloyd Acoustics is implementing an extensive marketing campaign to build awareness of the company and generate sales. The firm plans to create 10 new jobs by 2013 to help support the anticipated increase in business.
Mark Bleakney, Manager of Invest NI’s Southern Regional Office, said: “Lloyd Acoustics is a resourceful and export focused company which recognised the considerable growth opportunities available outside Northern Ireland. Increasing its workforce and developing a comprehensive marketing strategy will improve Lloyd Acoustics’ ability to compete for new business in this expanding and developing region.”
Nigel Dillon, Managing Director of Lloyd Acoustics, said: “Following an Invest NI trade mission to Warsaw, Poland, we wanted to develop a strategy that would enable us to benefit from the emerging commercial opportunities in Poland’s construction sector, specifically in new road infrastructure development. This investment supported by Invest NI will help us to develop a strong customer base and ultimately achieve our growth ambitions within this market.”
