LISBURN PLASTICS COMPANY ANNOUNCES EXPANSION
An investment by Creative Composites of Lisburn, to allow the company to reduce processing times, increase its production volumes and ensure consistent product quality, was announced today by Sir Reg Empey, MLA, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment.
The Minister announced the investment, totalling almost £1million, during a visit to Creative Composite’s facility at Blaris Industrial Estate in Lisburn. The investment, which involves an extension to the factory and upgrading of the company’s manufacturing systems, has to date seen the creation of 23 new jobs, some 7% ahead of the three year target.
Creative Composites is a locally owned company which manufactures glass reinforced plastic products for a range of industries including defence, vending, public service vehicles and materials handling vehicles.
Sir Reg said: “Creative Composites is an important local supplier to major blue chip international companies located in Northern Ireland, Great Britain, Europe, Brazil and the United States of America.
“I congratulate the management on its innovative approach and commitment to increasing both its capability and its capacity to allow itto build on a solid reputation for quality products.
“A strong focus on customers’ needs coupled with a philosophy of continuous improvement has led Creative Composites to develop an operation which is a one-stop-shop, offering a complete design to finished product service. This capability gives it a competitive edge that will enable it to develop further growth opportunities in a buoyant marketplace.
“The Company’s recent involvement with Invest NI’s Business Improvement Service is further demonstration of its desire for continuous improvement. The benefits of this relationship will further strengthen the business and enable it to succeed in today’s increasingly competitive marketplace.”
Commenting on the investment, Roy Kelly, Managing Director of Creative Composites, said: “This investment reflects our belief in the future of Creative Composites and in its ability to become a leading player in the plastics industry. We believe that there are opportunities to increase sales in our existing markets and to enter new markets both at home and overseas.
“A number of industry sectors are seeking to use more plastic composite products and we intend to position ourselves to service these sectors by exploiting our core strengths of good design and cost effective production.”
