Design firm targets external markets
Belfast-based company Frank Design and Communication Ltd is aiming to double export sales through a major marketing drive, supported by Invest Northern Ireland.
Frank provides creative media solutions, particularly focusing on web communications and digital animation. The company’s work to date has included brand development and the production of graphics for television programmes and films.
The expansion project involves the appointment of a Business Development Executive and the implementation of a specifically tailored export marketing campaign. Invest NI has offered £20,680 towards the total investment costs.
Commenting on the initiative, Oonagh Hinds, Invest NI’s Eastern Regional Office Manager, said: “Northern Ireland businesses must take advantage of opportunities in export markets to maximise their sales capability and achieve their full commercial potential. Frank has built up a strong customer base locally in recent years, and through this entrepreneurial initiative, it is now targeting potential customers in new external markets to increase profits.
“There is a growing worldwide demand for digital content solutions such as those offered by Frank. Through the Northern Ireland Digital Content Strategy, Invest NI is helping companies in this sector to increase competitiveness, capitalise on commercial prospects and make a greater contribution to the local economy.”
Damian Cranney, Co-Director of Frank, said: “Our Invest NI backed marketing strategy includes new business development outside Northern Ireland, marketing consultancy, PR and participation at industry events. We also plan to carry out market visits to prospective customers in the Republic of Ireland to raise the profile of our business there.
“Frank has a number of distinctive selling points which enable us to differentiate ourselves in export markets and win new business. These include the extensive experience and skill of our staff in the design and production of digital media and branded content for a variety of clients.”
“We have been a multiple prize-winner at the Irish Design Awards, and these achievements have given us more confidence to successfully carry out this export oriented project,” added Mr Cranney.
