Dundonald software firm builds on their export success
A Belfast based software design firm has launched a new product for export, with support from Invest Northern Ireland.
Qwizdom UK has developed innovative software designed for use on interactive whiteboards and with touchscreen technology in the corporate and education sectors.
Invest NI offered £57,000 of R&D support, part funded by European Regional Development Fund, towards Qwizdom’s wider R&D programme which aims to increase the company’s export capability, primarily in the North American market.
Qwizdom UK currently sells high quality interactive devices and the supporting educational curriculum software throughout the UK and Europe. The new software created, called ‘WizTeach’, is made up of a unique set of interactive desktop tools which aim to provide an enhanced learning experience for those in the classroom.
Oonagh Hinds, Manager of Invest NI’s Eastern Regional Office, said: “Qwizdom’s focus on developing the most innovative software products has helped it to make significant advances and become a key player, particularly in the education ICT sector. By launching this innovative product into global markets, Qwizdom can increase its competitive advantage and support the future growth of the business.”
Paul Brown of Qwizdom UK said: “Interactive white board technology has been around for many years and is widely used in all educational environments. However we recognised a gap in the market and with the help of Invest NI, researched new and more advanced solutions. By being the first to market with these innovative products, we are now growing our position in the industry and in particular, our exports to North America.”
