Entrepreneur Chips in with Business Advice
More than one hundred local business people enjoyed breakfast with the ex-Harry Ramsden's entrepreneur Richard Richardson at the King's Hall Conference Centre in Belfast this morning as he served up some early morning business advice. The Go For It Business Breakfast - organised by the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Institute of Business Advisors and Business for Business - was part of a series of entrepreneurship events supported by Invest Northern Ireland.
Mr Richardson, who is famous for turning a Yorkshire based fish and chip shop into the hugely successful international Harry Ramsden’s brand, entertained his audience with amusing anecdotes whilst demonstrating how all businesses, regardless of size or budget, can find a competitive advantage.
Using his business model ‘Marketing Judo’, which is based on the principles of Judo where brains matter more than brawn, Mr Richardson demonstrated his seven key marketing ‘moves’ which are being successfully applied to his own and other companies.
Commenting on the event, Eamon Mulvenna of Invest NI said: “The business breakfasts provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs and the wider enterprise and business networks to be inspired, and learn from the success stories of other role model entrepreneurs like Richard. Using his unique business model, Richard has confidently demonstrated how every would be entrepreneur has the potential to go for it!”
