Expansion Helps Frylite Become A Heavyweight In Export Markets

Strabane-based Frylite has announced a £500,000 expansion which will help the rapidly growing cooking and waste oil firm develop its research and development function and expand into new export markets.

The purpose built facility based at Invest Northern Ireland’s Orchard Road Business Park was officially opened by Invest NI Chief Executive, Leslie Morrison.

Speaking at the opening, Mr Morrison said: “Frylite should be congratulated on its success to date. This significant investment reinforces the company’s commitment to both the Strabane area and to Northern Ireland. By looking at new ways to develop the business, investing in R&D and increasing exports, Frylite is, and will continue to be, an asset to the local economy.”

He added: “As an Invest NI client company, Frylite has benefited from a full client team approach to assistance, including property and ICT advice. I hope that as Frylite continues to expand, its relationship with Invest NI will continue to provide a useful network of support.”

As a result of strategic partnerships with leading refineries throughout Europe, Frylite offers a complete service package, from the delivery of a wide range of oils, through to the collection and reprocessing of waste oils for use in alternative industries.

Commenting on the expansion, owner and Managing Director Eamon McCay said: “In the past 12 months our turnover has almost doubled, so in order to maximise new market opportunities and continue to grow the business, a property need was identified.

“Ongoing support provided by the Invest NI Western Local Office has enabled us to access the full range of Invest NI support and services. The Orchard Road site was one of a number of options suggested to us by Invest NI’s Property Solutions Unit and the 1.77 acre property has proven to be a perfect fit for our growth strategy.

“By committing £500,000 to the expansion we have now tailored the premises to our specification. This will facilitate the creation of innovative new products and services which will accelerate our exploitation of export markets and increase our competitiveness.
