Foster highlights the importance of small business
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster today highlighted the important role of small businesses and how a partnership approach could maximise their contribution to the local economy.
The Minister was speaking at Enterprise Northern Ireland’s 10th Anniversary Conference and Awards in Belfast.
Speaking at the event where the Minister congratulated Enterprise NI on 10 years of delivering support to local businesses, Arlene Foster said: “Northern Ireland’s small businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy, so it is vital as we continue to manage our way out of the current economic climate, that they are prepared for change and can access timely, relevant support.
“By working in partnership with organisations such as Enterprise NI we can ensure funding opportunities exist for new businesses who are unable to access mainstream sources of finance. Investing in small businesses by ensuring they have the support they need will help us to recover from the difficult times we are now experiencing, and assist in rebuilding the local economy.
“Moving forward, we need all aspects of the business support network to collaborate and provide co-ordinated support that will achieve greater impact, reduce duplication, produce efficiencies and, help our business base to grow and succeed.”
