Getting the Message Across

Invest Northern Ireland today held a business seminar called ‘Winning Strategies for Export Success’ at the Innovation Centre, Belfast aimed at helping companies within the electronics sector explore new market opportunities and develop successful strategies for growth.

Following the recent successful launch of the NI Electronics Forum the seminar was designed to challenge participants thinking in terms of their company’s strategic direction and marketing programme.

Brian Dolaghan, Director of Engineering and Business Services, commented:

“Getting the right message across to customers is a key component of any businesses success. By developing a strong marketing strategy companies can increase their client base, enhance their reputation and break into new more profitable markets.”

At the seminar, keynote speaker Professor Patrick McNamee, from the University of Ulster, discussed how the development of the right marketing strategy can lead to large-scale success for any business.

Guest speaker, Eleanor Baha from the British Embassy in Geneva highlighted areas where Invest NI companies could potentially win new business from CERN. A major player in the technology sector, CERN is the world’s largest particle physics laboratory and the birthplace of the Internet.

Eleanor Butterwick from Invest NI was also on hand to explain how the organisation is helping a large number of local companies pursue export marketing opportunities through its new Passport to EXPORT programme.

“We have a large range of services within Invest NI that can help local firms secure a firm footing in profitable overseas markets. Our Passport to EXPORT programme for example provides tailored business advice for both established exporters and newcomers to international business. Currently it is helping a large number of local firms with innovative products and services compete with the best in the world and achieve sustained commercial success,” continued Mr. Dolaghan.
