Internet solutions company ups capability with six-figure training and development project

Belfast-based internet solutions company, biznet IIS, has launched an extensive staff training and development programme to increase capability and boost profits, with support from Invest Northern Ireland and the EU.

biznet IIS provides content management systems and a range of other advanced internet solutions. These include information management and customised web-based applications which integrate with the internal systems and processes of biznet IIS’ clients.

The company is currently helping a variety of leading organisations and businesses to improve their operations and online marketing performance.  Its clients include Dublin Bus, the Road Safety Authority of Ireland, the Law Society of Ireland, Irish Rail, Fáilte Ireland and the City of Westminster Council.

Invest NI has worked closely with biznet IIS since its inception in 2007 as a spin-out from Biznet Solutions, offering a range of support and advice. Invest NI backing for this latest project is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Niall Casey, Invest NI’s Director of Business Improvement Services, said: “This skills development project at biznet IIS is crucial to the success of the company’s growth strategy over the next few years. It is enabling employees to create even more technologically advanced products and services, adding value to the firm’s portfolio and helping the business to maximise sales outside Northern Ireland.

“The programme involves employees at all levels and represents a more formal process of capability and skills development within biznet IIS. It is important that local firms invest in initiatives to develop the skills and knowledge of their people to ensure that their business remains competitive.”

Adrian Bradley, Managing Director of biznet IIS, said: “Through this programme, we are raising the skills levels of our team, and increasing the number of qualifications gained in areas such as project management, and software design and testing.  We are also developing our online customer relationship management and marketing techniques, including search engine optimisation.

“The programme has been pivotal in helping us to achieve Microsoft Gold Partner status and to move our business into an elite group of IT solutions companies in Northern Ireland.”

Mr Bradley added: “By developing our capability and knowledge in online marketing, we can ensure that new products are promoted to customers in key markets outside Northern Ireland as quickly and effectively as possible. We are now specifically targeting a number of niche sectors and groups, including tourism and tour operators. Invest NI’s continued support for this training programme is helping us to ensure that our team has the skills and know-how in place to take our offering to a worldwide audience, and increase sales and profits.”
