Invest Northern Ireland Helps Local Firm Get Better Vision

Newly formed business InspecVision Ltd has recently set up a production facility in Willowbank Business Park, Larne with help from Invest Northern Ireland.

The company, which has developed and patented a range of highly specialised electronic measurement equipment for the precision engineering sector, plans to employ 12 new staff at this new facility by March 2008.

Dr Jan Antonis is the Managing Director of InspecVision Ltd.  Drawing upon the skills he gained during his PhD in Computer Vision, and Mechanical Engineering Degree, (both from Queen’s University, Belfast) he has developed a technology which forms the basis of the company’s unique range of products.

Speaking on his company’s plans for the future Dr Jan Antonis said:

“We are at the early stages of our growth but have already achieved impressive sales. As we continue to develop and diversify our product range we will be able to build upon these sales and create a strong client base.”

InspecVision Ltd’s innovative products have strong export potential and the company has received extensive support and advice on selling its products overseas through Invest NI’s Passport to Export programme, which helps local firms gain access to world markets.

The company has received business advice and support from the north-eastern local office of Invest NI which is planning a ‘Go for it’ week, starting on the 3rd April to help businesses like InspecVision develop further and give potential entrepreneurs the support and advice they need to start a business.

The week-long celebration of entrepreneurship will feature events such as an ideas generation workshop, a seminar on energy efficiency, and a roadshow featuring IT and telecommunications technologies.

Commenting on ‘Go for it’ week, George McKinney, Invest NI’s Regional Manager of the North Eastern Local Office said: “In organising this week we are encouraging people to Go for It, take a chance and start or improve a business. Only by doing this will we be able to ensure the future success of our economy.”

The week will culminate in Go for It the Enterprise Show at the Seven Towers Leisure Centre, Ballymena on Friday 7 April from 3pm to 9pm and Saturday 8 April from 10am to 5pm.

Open to all and free of charge the show has been specifically designed to give advice and support to potential entrepreneurs planning a new business or growing a business. This will cover a wide range of business issues such as business planning, marketing, taxation and IT.
