Invest Northern Ireland Opens New Premises

Invest Northern Ireland today officially opened the new premises of its southern local office which has moved to Drumalane Mill, the Quays in Newry.

The property will serve as the office’s new base of operations as it continues to deliver business support and advice to companies based in Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Down, Newry and Mourne council areas.

Speaking at the event Professor Terri Scott, Managing Director of Clients and Entrepreneurship at Invest NI said: “These new premises confirm Invest NI’s long term commitment to South Down and Armagh and our local office focus on stimulating entrepreneurial growth and business development in these areas.  By encouraging our client companies to increase their competitiveness and focus on innovation we are helping to create a successful and vibrant economy.”

In addition to acting as a gateway to the wide range of support programmes and services that Invest NI has to offer the office’s dedicated team of client executives offer practical commercial guidance based upon extensive business experience.

Mark Bleakney, Regional Manager of the southern local office commented: “This move represents a significant milestone in the development of our office as we continue to support local businesses. Within this region alone we have over 432 active client companies that employ 19,346 people. By continuing to promote the various programmes and initiatives that Invest NI has to offer local companies we are helping to create a strong, healthy economy.”

Dr Martin Naughton founder and Executive Chairman of the Glen Dimplex Group was invited to officially open the new premises.

“The Southern region of Northern Ireland, lying as it does along the Dublin and Belfast economic corridor is a good place to start or develop a business. The experienced team who work within Invest NI’s southern local office have helped many firms in this area to grow, develop and innovate. I am confident that this new base of operations will further strengthen their ability to support companies and will usher in a new period of success for local businesses,” he commented.

To amplify and clarify the role of the local office network a new brochure was also launched at the event, outlining the full range of support programmes and business advice currently delivered by Invest NI. The Local Office Network brochure also features a number of case studies from successful client companies.
