Leading software company invests over £760,000 in staff training
Invest Northern Ireland is helping Kainos, a Belfast-based software specialist, to implement a £760,000 staff training programme.
Kainos provides leading-edge information technology (IT) solutions and services to help organisations streamline their processes and use their technology to its full potential. The company’s clients include both public and private sector organisations throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland.
The extensive training and development programme is further improving staff skills and increasing business capability to boost the company’s performance in a range of areas.
Invest NI has offered £228,217, part financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), towards the total project costs of £760,722.
Niall Casey, Invest NI’s Director of Business Improvement Services, said: “Staff training is a key component of Kainos’ drive to improve efficiency and productivity throughout its operations. This project is equipping employees with additional skills and knowledge to refine processes and cut costs at every opportunity, whilst keeping a strong focus on quality.
“By investing in their employees, Northern Ireland companies can raise performance levels and enhance profitability. This is particularly important during the current economic downturn so companies can retain key skills and be ready to take advantage of business opportunities as the situation gradually improves.”
Brendan Mooney, Managing Director of Kainos, said: “This Invest NI and EU backed staff training and development programme is helping us to maximise the potential of our employees, increase job satisfaction, raise morale and improve output.
“Strengthening our consulting capability and enhancing our technical skills base is a fundamental part of this project, with much of the training being underpinned by formal qualifications. The initiative is strongly aligned with Kainos’ strategy of attracting and retaining highly qualified staff, enabling us to react quickly and even more effectively to new business opportunities.”
“We believe that our leadership, management and sales training, in addition to a structured staff induction process, are vital to the high performance of our workforce,” added Mr Mooney.
