Lisburn company invests £470,000 in expansion
Lisburn-based company Blue Sky Renewables is investing almost £470,000 in an expansion project, supported by Invest Northern Ireland.
Blue Sky Renewables assembles, distributes and installs sustainable energy equipment such as solar panels and water heaters to a range of industry sectors, building management organisations and homeowners.
This investment is helping the company to develop exports throughout the UK, the Republic of Ireland and mainland Europe by focusing on highly targeted marketing and business development initiatives.
Oonagh Hinds, Invest NI’s Eastern Regional Office Manager, said: “Having refined its products and services, Blue Sky Renewables is continuing to progress by seeking to increase its competitiveness and profitability in external markets. The activities being implemented as part of this project will help this entrepreneurial company to improve its selling capability and add significant value to the business.
“The renewable energy market is growing as there is increasing need for more efficient and innovative energy solutions for both domestic and industrial use. Through this investment, Invest NI is supporting Blue Sky Renewables to strengthen its position in the sustainable energy sector and capitalise on developing opportunities.”
Allen Johnston, Managing Director of Blue Sky Renewables, said: “We have already had some significant export success and are now focusing on a range of marketing activities to build on this. These initiatives include market research, attendance at trade fairs, advertising and PR campaigns, visits to markets outside Northern Ireland and even better customer relationship management functions.
“We are also planning to upgrade our website and develop a suite of promotional literature to help raise awareness of the Blue Sky Renewables brand,” added Mr Johnston.
Blue Sky Renewables will create three new jobs as part of this investment, including a Senior Commercial Manager.
