Local Company 'Secures' Major Contracts
A Castledawson company specialising in electronic car parking systems, gate automation and electronic security systems has secured contracts worth over £600,000 with companies in the Republic of Ireland.
The contracts include the new ‘Park and Ride’ car park scheme in Cork City that recently came into operation with the assistance of a bespoke car parking solution developed by the company.
The Invest Northern Ireland backed company, Hydraulic and Electromechanical Automation (HEA), has also won the contract to install the new town centre electronic security System in Maghera, and recently was awarded ISO 9000:2000 and the National Approval Council for Security Systems Gold Standard in Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Access Control.
The string of successes firmly establishes HEA as one of the leading suppliers of tailor-made automated car parking and security systems in Ireland.
HEA employs 30 staff operating from its premises in Castledawson. The company has also recently established satellite offices in Dublin and Cork. Its success in exporting its products and services outside Northern Ireland comes after it implemented a marketing strategy with the help of Invest NI.
Stephen Clark, managing director of HEA says: “We’re delighted with these recent contracts which will help to raise our profile in the RoI market. I believe our success stems from our ability to use software technology to provide tailor-made solutions for our customers, as well as a reputation for product quality, particularly in terms of durability, reliability, consistency, and after-sales backup.
“Initially we were depending on referrals for new business but recognised that we needed to take a more focused marketing approach. With Invest NI’s help we undertook some targeted marketing activity and the results have been tremendous.”
The company’s target market is the commercial and public property sectors and it already counts Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Ascon-Rohcon, and Irish Rail among its customers. HEA is currently negotiating security related solutions with potential clients in Europe and beyond.
Commenting on the company’s success, Des Gartland, Invest NI client executive, said: “HEA identified a gap in the market for bespoke car parking and security systems and these contracts indicate that it has now established itself as a key player in the security systems sector in Ireland.
“We have been working with the company since it was set up five years ago, and have been able to help it streamline procedures and introduce appropriate management information systems. Our recent assistance with marketing has already produced exceptional results in the RoI market and we are now helping the company to market its business in overseas markets.”
