Londonderry IT Company HostSure Creates 14 New Jobs

Londonderry-based IT firm, HostSure Northern Ireland has recently expanded its workforce, creating 14 new jobs with support from Invest Northern Ireland’s Jobs Fund.

HostSure provides cloud infrastructure services to corporate customers across Great Britain, Europe and the USA. The computer software company increased its workforce in recent months to accommodate an increase in business activity as a result of securing a new contract. The new jobs include a new software tester, help desk operators and programmers.

Ian Murphy, Invest NI’s Director of Growth and Scaling, said: “HostSure Northern Ireland is a young and ambitious company and its decision to expand in Derry is an important win for the area. The 14 new jobs will generate more than £270,000 annually in additional salaries, benefiting the local economy and North West region. To have all of these jobs in place within a four month timeframe reflects the effectiveness of Invest NI’s Jobs Fund, which was designed to help businesses create jobs quickly.”

Robbie O’Brien, Director of HostSure NI, said: “We identified a contract opportunity involving 24/7 helpdesk support and software development but needed to get a team in place to capitalise on this new business. The availability of skills combined with support from Invest NI’s Jobs Fund encouraged us to base this team in the North West. We are pleased with the progress so far and hope to be in a position to further expand our workforce in the near future.”

Invest NI has offered HostSure Northern Ireland £98,000 through its Jobs Fund. The Jobs Fund initiative continues to achieve widespread uptake from innovative companies and, to date, has helped over 1,500 businesses across Northern Ireland create over 3,700 new jobs.

In addition to employment grants for businesses, the Jobs Fund also offers financial incentives of £1,000–£1,500 for individuals wishing to start a business. To be eligible for this support the individual must be either resident in one of the 36 Neighbourhood Renewal Areas (NRA), or be a young person currently not in employment, education or training.
