MM Group Announces Major Investment
Invest Northern Ireland is supporting MM Group, a leading UK contact centre company, to restructure its Bangor facility in a multi-million investment that will ensure it continues to provide the highest quality service to its portfolio of international clients.
The investment was announced by Leslie Morrison, chief executive of Invest Northern Ireland, which is providing over £1 million for the project.
The reorganisation of the Bangor operation, the largest of MM Group’s facilities, will include the establishment of a secure access unit to allow the company to provide clients with call handling and data input work in a totally confidential environment.
The project is creating 200 jobs, of which 53 jobs are already in place, and also involves an upgrade of the company’s IT systems to enable all MM Group operational units to work seamlessly as one single virtual communications centre.
Commenting on the investment Leslie Morrison said: “This investment by MM Group underpins the company’s commitment to Northern Ireland and further enhances our message that Northern Ireland is an excellent location for contact centres.
“The jobs created as a result of this project will benefit the local economy by around £2.5 million annually in wages and salaries and the planned training and development of staff will enhance the skills of the workforce and help develop the type of added-value services that Invest NI is keen to support.”
520 people are currently employed at the Bangor facility, providing a 24 hour service 365 days a year.
France based company, the SR Teleperformance Group recently acquired 92.5% of the shareholding in MM Group Holdings Ltd which owns MM Group. SR Teleperformance is the second largest worldwide operator of outsourced contact centres having 151 companies in 34 countries throughout the world.
Christophe Allard, CEO of SR Teleperformance commented: “We have identified a customer requirement for secure handling of data and calls that cannot be achieved in the normal open plan call centre environment. The establishment of a secure access unit will allow us to meet that requirement and give us a significant edge over our competitors.
“The Bangor facility is a critical part of our growth strategy This investment is expected to result in an increase in turnover of £5 million from this facility alone and will help establish MM Group as the UK’s top contact centre company.”
