Newry company targets RoI with innovative marketing systems
Invest Northern Ireland is supporting Newry company Iconic Sign Systems to invest over £200,000 to grow sales of its innovative signage and Bluetooth marketing systems in the Republic of Ireland.
Established in 2005, Iconic specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of customised signage, as well as web design and a new Bluetooth marketing system known as Bloozy. Bloozy can send automated text messages to Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones within a catchment area, informing recipients of promotions, retail offers or other advertising.
The investment by Iconic, supported by an offer of £29,000 from Invest NI, will see the company implement a major marketing campaign in the Republic of Ireland and strengthen its workforce through the creation of eight new jobs over the next three years.
The project follows the company’s recent success in securing a contract for the re brand of all catering signage at Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) HQ, Croke Park, Dublin. The signage will be installed in all public levels and premier level areas.
Mark Bleakney, Invest NI’s Southern Regional Office Manager, says: “Iconic Sign Systems is a highly innovative small company that is capitalising on the increasing use of mobile technology in marketing in order to complement its existing signage and web design operations. This investment will enable Iconic to even better communicate with potential clients in RoI, helping the company to continue to overcome the economic downturn by securing new sales.”
Kevin Parkes, Managing Director of Iconic Sign Systems sees the RoI market as pivotal to the company’s future success: “The company was originally built around our expertise in signs and graphics but having diversified into web design and Bluetooth systems, we have seen demand take off as we can now offer more complete marketing service solutions.
“With the help of Invest NI, we now plan to raise our profile through a number of methods, including participation in the main trade shows on the island, advertising in business publications and the production of high quality brochures and literature.”
Kevin continues: “We also plan to recruit a dedicated finance controller to free up the time of other managers in the team. Furthermore, the creation of additional specialised posts will enable us to serve our customers even better.”
