Searching For Success With Invest Northern Ireland
Invest Northern Ireland held a Search Engine Marketing seminar at the Hilton Hotel, Belfast today. Designed to help businesses across Northern Ireland maximise their e-commerce potential the event was fully subscribed attracting 76 delegates.
A follow up to the hugely successful Search Engine Conference organised by Invest NI in April of last year, the event consisted of workshops focussing on three distinct areas:
Creating a web site so that it will be ranked highly by search engines.
Creating web pages to boost customer traffic to the site.
Developing the right Internet marketing strategy that will lead to business success.
A number of industry experts such as principal speaker Barry Lloyd of Makemetop.com and David Turner from Position Technologies were on hand to give advice and support to the participants. Designed to be a fully interactive seminar, the delegates also received tailored advice at separate workshops which ran throughout the day.
Commenting on the significance of the event Leslie Morrison, Chief Executive of Invest NI said:
“Given the very high proportion of small companies that we have in Northern Ireland, successful search engine marketing is extremely important. Internet search engines have become a highly significant business tool for companies wishing to develop or increase sales, both locally and globally.
“Size becomes irrelevant if the right customers can find you and you have the capability to deliver the products or services they want on time and at the right price,” he continued.
Tara Leathem, E-business consultant from Tibus who attended the conference, said:
“To stay one step ahead of your competitors you have to embrace all of the new advances within this technology. This seminar will help us to improve our current Internet marketing strategy and ensure that we can retain our competitive edge.”
With e-commerce revenue in the UK worth £140.3 billion in 2002 and an estimated £650 billion by 2008, investing in the right website and Internet marketing strategy will allow businesses across Northern Ireland to achieve their full e-potential.
