US Software Engineering Firm Opens New Centre in Belfast
Invest Northern Ireland Chief Executive, Alastair Hamilton today announced that US software engineering firm, iManage, has established a software engineering centre in Belfast with 18 jobs.
Announcing the investment Alastair Hamilton said: “iManage provides work product management products for legal, accounting and financial services firms. The company supports over 3,000 organisations including over 1,800 law firms and is a global leader in its field. This project, which will see the establishment of a software engineering centre in Belfast, is highly innovative and marks a significant leap forward in the company’s growth plans.
“The new centre will provide additional valuable employment to Northern Ireland’s growing IT sector with 18 jobs and once all of the jobs are in place, will contribute an additional £680,000 in salaries per year to the local economy.
“Northern Ireland is continuing to grow as an attractive place for foreign direct investment and iManage’s location here is further proof of our worldwide appeal.”
Invest NI offered the US-based firm £90,000 of support for the 18 new jobs. Ten of the jobs are already in place, with the remaining to be filled during the next quarter. Roles include product architects, senior developers, junior developers and support engineers.
Ian Raine has joined as Director of Product Management and to oversee the centre, along with Bernadette McCoy as Director of Engineering. Both local to Belfast, Ian brings over 25 years of experience building enterprise software products and Bernadette over 20 years architecting and delivering enterprise scale products and solutions in both the enterprise content management and web information management sectors.
