A unique online video platform dedicated to entertain and educate farming enthusiasts is gaining traction since launching its subscription service last year.

FarmFlix, described by its creator as “like Netflix for farmers”, is a platform that delivers fresh agricultural videos for the farming community.

The ongoing advice and assistance of Invest NI has been fundamental to the development and launch of our video streaming service.

Discussing its progress, John McClean, founder of FarmFLiX, said: “Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive to date from our members and we intend to keep delivering the content they want to watch. The ongoing advice and assistance of Invest NI has been fundamental to the development and launch of our video streaming service.

"Technical advice and R&D support helped us secure our trademark and set up our platform. Assistance with recruiting four additional team members to help with video production activities will enable us to achieve our growth ambitions. We will continue to focus on growing our membership and building awareness of the FarmFLiX brand by attending farming events throughout UK and Ireland in 2018.”

Moira Loughran, Invest NI’s North Eastern Regional Manager added: “FarmFLiX is a niche business designed to appeal to farming enthusiasts and the many thousands of people with a connection to the agri-food sector. The growth potential for FarmFLiX is vast, particularly as its membership expands beyond the UK and Ireland.

"The business has utilised the technical advice and support of experts in Invest NI to successfully launch its product to market and we are delighted to help the company in its development.

"Co. Antrim is increasingly becoming a choice location for film and TV production and FarmFLiX is a welcome addition to this emerging industry.”

Invest NI has offered FarmFLiX over £35,000 of support, including R&D assistance part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
