Armagh company aims to floor competition

Invest Northern Ireland is supporting a £2 million investment by Co. Armagh company, Reflex Mouldings, which will help the firm to expand its product range, and increase its export potential predominantly in the US

Reflex Mouldings, which is based in Markethill, manufactures car accessories including car mats, mud flaps and number plates. After identifying an opportunity in the flooring sector it developed an interlocking PVC floor tile using the same manufacturing process as the car accessories. This product has largely been responsible for the rapid growth of the business and is now sold in the Republic of Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, United States and the Middle East.

This latest investment will allow Reflex Mouldings to develop innovative products and exploit export opportunities.  As a result it aims to almost double its turnover within the next four years.

Ian Murphy, Invest NI’s Managing Director of Entrepreneurship, welcomed the investment announcement. He said: “By focusing on exports and continuously innovating with new products and production methods, Reflex Mouldings has gained a competitive edge in all its key target markets.

“This investment will allow it to build on its success to date and achieve substantial sales in new markets.”

The company is planning to build capability by appointing new staff at management level with expertise in marketing and finance and enhance its IT systems.

Reflex Mouldings’s Sales and Marketing Director, Paul Hurson, says: “This is an exciting and challenging time for the company. We’ve identified a number of potential new markets and need to ensure we have the right management structure and the most efficient processes in place so that we can take advantage of the opportunity to significantly increase our export sales.”
