AquaQ Analytics in Belfast is targeting opportunities across the UK, US and European Financial Services sector following a range of support from Invest Northern Ireland.

The company provides specialist data management, data analytics and data mining services to clients operating within the capital markets and other sectors. In recent years AquaQ Analytics has benefited from Invest NI support to expand its workforce and undertake a skills training programme with part funding from the European Regional Development Fund.

AquaQ Analytics has recruited 22 high quality IT and Finance posts since incorporation in 2011, 15 of which were supported by Invest NI.

Following a visit to the company’s offices, Ian Murphy, Invest NI’s Director of Growth and Scaling said: “This is an ambitious and fast growing company at the forefront of sophisticated technology for the global financial services industry. We are helping the company market its enterprise internationally and providing support towards training.

“Financial services is a priority sector for Invest NI and it will benefit significantly from the investment in the data analytical expertise that AquaQ Analytics is now developing and marketing.”

Dr Ronan Pairceir, founder of the company, said: “Our clients encounter many technical challenges when dealing with large volumes of financial data. If our clients can overcome these challenges in such a way to gain a competitive advantage in the market they will benefit from very significant financial rewards.

“The skillset of all our staff is critical in delivering the most optimal solutions to the most complex of data problems. We continue to invest extensively in the development of our team so we can continue to deliver the highest quality service in some of the most intellectually demanding working environments.

“Already we have built strong relations with high profile clients within the capital markets and financial sectors. Our proven track record has recently been acknowledged through a consulting and training partnership with the international leaders in high volume and high performance database systems – Kx Systems.

“Support from Invest NI is enabling us to strengthen our market position, to diversify into other geographical markets and into other market sectors where the skills necessary for data management can be easily transferred.”
