Brookvent Wins First Business in Hungary with Invest NI Assistance

Feb 20, 2014

Brookvent, the Dunmurry-based manufacturer of innovative window ventilation and heat recovery systems, has won its first business in Hungary following participation in an Invest Northern Ireland trade mission.

The company used a recent Invest NI trade mission to pinpoint opportunities in both Hungary and Poland. The initial business, valued at a five figure sum, will see Brookvent supplying its systems to a window manufacturer in Hungary for a construction project in nearby Poland.

Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI Trade Director said: “It’s immensely encouraging to see how Brookvent is exploiting the huge opportunities that are developing in infrastructure projects, especially in new housing, in Hungary and elsewhere in the region.

“The decision by this ambitious company to invest in a base in Poland following one of our missions is proving to be a successful initiative and has encouraged the business to explore further opportunities in other areas such as Russia by means of our forthcoming trade mission which will be centred on Moscow from 3-7 June.”

Declan Gormley, Brookvent Managing Director said: “Our contract in Hungary is a result of our decision to recruit a business development executive for Central and Eastern Europe, based in our office in Wroclaw in Poland as a base to explore the opportunities developing in the region, and also in Russia.

“We have identified substantial business opportunities for our window ventilation and heat recovery systems which are much more advanced than longer established products available there.

“Invest NI’s guidance and practical support have been invaluable and have enabled us to develop a solid platform for growth in markets with immense potential,” he added.

In addition to its team in Poland, Brookvent employs 48 people at its head office in Dunmurry Industrial Estate, where it designs and manufactures mechanical leading-edge window vents and heat recovery systems for private and public housing construction.

The company first visited Poland in 2009 on an Invest Northern Ireland trade mission.
