Downpatrick company CM Precision Components Ltd is creating five jobs in an investment that will support the firm’s export growth.
The advanced engineering company produces precision machined components for the automotive, materials handling and aerospace sectors. It is investing in new capacity to take advantage of an opportunity to increase export sales to the Republic of Ireland.
Invest Northern Ireland is supporting the new jobs with a grant of £35,000 through its Jobs Fund.
Kevin McCann, Invest NI’s Director of Advanced Engineering and Construction, said: “Northern Ireland has retained a vibrant, diverse and export focused advanced manufacturing sector and it is reassuring to see companies like CM investing for long term growth.
“CM Precision Components is purchasing new equipment and recruiting new staff to achieve the capacity it needs to meet the increasing export demand for its products and services.”
The company is investing in new equipment and plans to recruit four skilled machine operators and one Quality Engineer. Two of the skilled machine operators are already in place.
Kieran Cooper, Managing Director of CM Precision Components, said: “We anticipate that this investment will allow us to increase export sales by £250,000 over the next few years.
“Invest NI’s Jobs Fund support has been vital in allowing us to recruit quickly without putting too much strain on our cash flow. We’re excited about the possibilities for further growth.”
