Craigavon-based Agrihealth NI is investing over £120,000 to boost its presence in Great Britain and Europe with support from Invest Northern Ireland.
Agrihealth NI sells animal health products and equipment to vets, chemists and agri-merchants throughout the UK and Ireland. The company has set a target to increase its sales by £600,000 over the next two years and has secured positive results to date.
Invest NI offered Agrihealth NI over £26,000 of support towards its export development strategy. The firm has already implemented an extensive marketing campaign and has appointed a business development manager to help exploit opportunities in its target markets and beyond. The company plans to employ additional technical personnel and production operatives over the coming months to support the predicted increase in business.
Agrihealth NI also recently acquired UK equine business Eddie Palin Ltd, expanding its portfolio to include market-leading equine brands such as Liveryman and Fenceman. This development has enabled Agrihealth NI to operate within the lucrative equine sector for the first time.
Mark Bleakney, Manager of Invest NI’s Southern Regional Office, said: “Agrihealth NI is an ambitious company determined to boost its competitiveness in export markets. Its acquisition of Eddie Palin will give the business access to new opportunities in the equine sector, which has considerable commercial potential. An enhanced management team and targeted promotional activities will also help the firm to achieve its objectives.”
William Hurst, Sales Manager with Agrihealth NI, said: “Invest NI’s support towards our investment will enable us to drive growth in the GB and European animal health and equipment market. We have experienced a steady increase in sales over the past few months and are on track to achieve £600,000 worth of additional business by 2013.”
