Jun 19, 2007

Economy Minister Nigel Dodds travels to the Paris Air Show today to support eight local aerospace companies taking part in the Show.

Invest Northern Ireland is facilitating the participation of six of the firms on its group stand at the 47th International Paris Air Show. During their attendance, the companies will have meetings with key customers, arranged by Invest NI, and they will also attend a reception for over 100 top aerospace sector influencers at the Irish Embassy in Paris.Recognising the importance of the sector, the Minister said: “The aerospace sector adds significant value to the Northern Ireland economy and these local companies have the opportunity to further build on their successes.

“Invest NI’s group stand, at the Show, gives the companies exposure to around 150,000 trade visitors and over 200 official delegations from countries around the world. This, coupled with targeted meetings with key existing and potential customers, will raise their individual profiles while also highlighting the Northern Ireland aerospace sector to a global audience.”

The 47th International Paris Air Show takes place from 18 – 24 June 2007 at Le Bourget in Paris. The event comprises over 320,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor exhibition space and in 2005 attracted over 137,000 trade visitors.
