Giving Voice to the Future of ICT with Invest Northern Ireland

Mar 09, 2005

Invest Northern Ireland, in partnership with Momentum, will be holding a business seminar called ‘Converge, Communicate, Compete with Broadband’ at the Ramada Hotel on the 23rd March from 11am - 1pm.

The event will highlight the findings of a number of pilots, held over the last 12 months with local players in the ICT sector, to investigate the commercial merit of a specific IT technology i.e. Internet Protocol Telephony (also known as ‘Voice over IP’ – VoIP). The agenda will include a presentation on the technologies evaluated in the pilots, feedback from the participants, and a practical demonstration of the technology.

Open to businesses across Northern Ireland the seminar has been specifically designed to educate companies outside of the ICT sector about the current technological developments that will enable them to enhance their business offerings.

Commenting on the event Alan Neville, director of knowledge management with Invest NI said:

“The findings of these pilots have significant implications not only for companies operating within the ICT sector but for any business across Northern Ireland wishing to reduce their telecommunications costs. By adopting these technologies local companies will be better positioned to enhance their competitiveness and possibly expand into new and more profitable external markets.”
