Google, Microsoft and Ebay to share secrets of online success

Mar 09, 2007

Experts from world-leading Internet companies Google, Microsoft and eBAY will be explaining how to successfully trade online at a one-day conference being organised by Invest Northern Ireland.

The conference has been devised with the co-operation of these leading web technology and service providers to provide insight into the wide range of tools and services available to an online trading business. There will be a mix of high profile international and local speakers and exhibitors.

Leslie Morrison, Invest NI’s Chief Executive, said: “The Internet has opened up access to customers all over the world and local businesses that are not trading online are missing out on a huge marketplace. In 2005 the total value of online sales in the UK alone was estimated at £103 billion.

“This conference will provide those already trading online, and those exploring e-commerce, with an opportunity to hear from the companies that have made the Internet their primary trading forum.”

The conference will include a question and answer session when participants will have an opportunity to ask representatives from Google, Microsoft and eBay about any aspect of e-commerce.

There will also be sessions on search engine marketing, e-mail marketing, e-commerce, website usability and search engine visibility, blogging and podcasts, affiliate marketing, pay per click campaigns and how to set up an eBay shop.

The ‘How to successfully trade and sell online’ conference will take place on 22 March in Tullyglass Hotel Ballymena.
