Helm Wins Global Contract

HELM Corporation continues to build on its position as a growing player in the domestic and international consultancy market, winning a multi-million pound contract with the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID).

HELM is the driving force in a consortium of three companies that have been commissioned to support DFID in the design of ARIES, a new management information system and integrated financial management software application to meet the Department’s financial, procurement, reporting and performance management needs.

The Department for International Development employs 2,500 people in its two headquarters in London and Glasgow and in its 69 overseas offices.

HELM will provide the DFID ARIES project with business process change management consultancy, business process re-engineering support and communications advice.

Commenting on the award of the contract, HELM Director William Buckley said:

“This DFID contract demonstrates our suitability to deliver a large and complex solution for a global organisation with very demanding information management and reporting requirements.”

HELM’s Chief Executive Sean Sweeney commented:

“The ARIES project adds to the momentum of growth across the UK and Ireland in the HELM organisation created by high value contracts that we have been winning over the last 18 months.”

Leslie Morrison, Chief Executive of Invest NI, congratulated Mr Sweeney on this significant contract for the Northern Ireland firm and said:

“HELM Corporation has successfully availed of our support to help increase the quantity and size of its contracts in the local and international business arena. Invest Northern Ireland is delighted to assist and facilitate the company’s continued export growth where it can.”

The HELM change management team will be working across the worldwide network of DFID overseas offices.  HELM is currently managing major projects across Europe, Africa and Asia. This international presence is complemented by HELM’s burgeoning operations which includes contracts in Belfast, Dublin and London.

The ARIES project is the largest project in a 10-year change management programme for DFID. Its completion will create a major change in how the DFID conducts its business, substantially reducing the Department’s current spend on its support services.
