Invest NI 2012/13 Support to Deliver Almost 500 New Jobs in Larne

Jun 21, 2013

Invest Northern Ireland 2012/13 performance results for the Larne District Council area show that almost 500 jobs were promoted as a result of its support.

Gren Armstrong, Invest NI’s North Eastern Regional Manager, said: “This is a very encouraging performance by Invest NI in Larne District Council area, particularly in securing 416 new jobs for the area with a recent investment by Japanese owned healthcare company Terumo BCT.

“In 2012/13, Invest NI made 83 offers totalling almost £4million of assistance to local and external companies.  This contributed towards total investment in the area of £22million, which is more than ten times the level of planned investment recorded the previous year.

“Against a backdrop of continued challenges placed on businesses as a result of the ongoing economic downturn, these results have demonstrated a strong performance with tangible benefits for the local community and the economy. I hope these figures will be received with the positive response they deserve,” added Gren.
