Invest NI Helps Local Companies to Boost Sales

Oct 19, 2004

Nine west Belfast businesses are looking forward to an increase in sales after completing Invest Northern Ireland's WIN Sales Programme.

The companies, ranging from publishing to manufacturing, took part in the 10-week programme which focuses on the key principles of effective selling including identifying new customers, selling the benefits of the product or service, structuring sales presentations effectively, and time management.

This is the twentieth time that Invest NI has run the programme which has helped sales personnel from over 200 companies around Northern Ireland to hone their sales techniques.

The programme employs an innovative three-way coaching technique that includes group training sessions, mentoring support and role-plays which are videoed for feedback.

Maurice Patterson, manager of Invest NI’s Eastern Local Office says: “The programme aims to increase selling effectiveness and is suitable for a wide range of business sectors and for both product and service sales. It works well for both experienced sales people looking for a refresher course and for young professionals without any previous selling background.”
