Dec 22, 2004

Leslie Morrison, chief executive of Invest Northern Ireland today announced that a preferred developer has been chosen for the new office style business space which is to be built in Londonderry.

Quay Developments will take forward the development which will create 65,000 square feet of office accommodation on the Strand Road.

Invest NI will provide financial support to the project that will create a five storey office building for Invest NI prospective clients, predominantly new inward investment opportunities.

Leslie Morrison said: “I’m delighted that we can announce that, subject to finalising legal contracts, Quay Developments will begin work on the new accommodation early in the New Year. We recognise that there have been delays in reaching this point but are confident that by early 2006 an impressive new business facility will be completed and available to local and international entrepreneurs.

“The development of high quality office space in Londonderry will enhance the local business infrastructure and fits well with the aim of Invest Northern Ireland’s North West Action Plan which is to transform the North West into a vibrant and modern economy. “
