Moygashel firm tailors image for export successes

Moygashel-based Tailored Image is poised for significant export growth with the launch of a prestigious new corporate clothing range, supported by Invest Northern Ireland.

Tailored Image is a leading designer of high quality, ready-to-wear and bespoke corporate clothing for clients based across the UK and Ireland. With turnover increasing annually by 15-20%, Tailored Image is now targeting the competitive and highly valuable niche market of premium corporate clothing - which includes some of the UK’s most discerning hospitality and banking institutions - with the ‘Birt Bespoke’ range.

Alastair Hamilton, Chief Executive of Invest NI says: “Tailored Image has secured major export orders in recent years, including a €1.5million order to supply corporate uniforms for a public transport body in the Republic of Ireland. However, even the most successful firms need to constantly re-evaluate their products and processes in order to sustain growth.

“Accessing Invest NI support through our Western Regional Office in Omagh, Tailored Image has invested significantly in brand and product development, as well as key marketing activities to position the company strongly in export markets and increase its client base. This has been complemented by the recruitment of key management personnel and the introduction of advanced information systems to streamline business operations.

“These actions have allowed the firm to fulfil demand and also research further opportunities for growth. With the launch of its new high end corporate wear range, Tailored Image looks set to build on its strong performance to date.”

Bernard Birt, owner and Managing Director of Tailored Image said: “In recent years, we have refined key elements of the business in order to better meet the needs of our diverse customer base. This allowed us to focus on our next phase of development – a move into even more prestigious and lucrative niche markets with the ‘Birt Bespoke’ range.

“Tailored Image already has a strong presence in RoI which will support sales of the new range there, so efforts are currently concentrated on building our presence in the upmarket textiles heart of London with Invest NI’s help.

“We have already identified a number of new business opportunities as employers seek quality corporate wear which has a long lasting appeal to enhance their image and develop a competitive edge. This, combined with our ongoing commitment to high standards of customer service, the application of state-of-the-art design techniques and a creative, talented team of people means we are confident that growth will continue well into the 2010 - 2011 period and beyond.”
