Recruitment Solution Delivers Market Success

Mar 13, 2006

The recent postal strike has boosted business for a local software firm which has already projected a £350,000 increase in sales by 2008 and new export contracts, thanks to a unique piece of online recruitment software developed with R&D assistance from Invest Northern Ireland.

Belfast software firm Hallmark Solutions which employs six people, specialises in designing and developing computer based human resource systems. One such product is the revolutionary eRecruit system, a state of the art software offering which has been designed to help organisations reduce the cost, improve the quality and speed up the process of online recruitment.

“Having already projected a significant sales increase by 2008, we are now anticipating further growth thanks to a doubling of interest in the eRecruit software, since the recent postal strike,” says Helen Hall, Chief Executive of Hallmark Solutions.

“Companies were forced to extend closing dates for applications and in some instances accept forms by e-mail or fax because of postal delays. This has emphasised the dependence of recruitment processes on traditional mail services, leading many firms to seek alternative, online options such as our eRecruit system.

“eRecruit supports the recruitment process from vacancy creation through to applicant appointment. Its wide-ranging features, such as compatibility with existing HR software, including our core PAMS product, promote ease of use and efficiency ensuring the recruitment process is conducted effectively.”

“These qualities have made our software extremely popular with both private and public sector organisations across the UK. Indeed we are experiencing rapid growth in external markets thanks to our ablility to deliver a complete package - tailored human resources software solutions supported by a full service facility.”

The software was developed with assistance from Invest NI’s Product and Process Development programme which aims to support smaller Northern Ireland businesses that are developing new market-led products or more efficient manufacturing and production processes.

Donal Durkan, Director of Creative and Design Industries, Invest NI adds: “The software industry is a particularly competitive and fast moving sector yet Hallmark Solutions is growing rapidly by anticipating market trends and seizing opportunities by developing innovative products and services.

“By embedding R&D at the heart of its business strategy, and combining this with the expertise of human resources professionals, this young firm will continue to deliver postive results.”

Hallmark’s core product is the Personnel Administration Management System (PAMS), a centralised data source which stores and assimilates all personnel information quickly and effectively. Such advanced products, combined with a responsive service facility, have doubled Hallmark’s turnover in only three years.
