Tyrone Auction Firm Targets New Opportunities In Europe

Nov 18, 2010

Tyrone firm Euro Auctions is targeting new opportunities in Europe with help from Invest Northern Ireland.

Euro Auctions provides onsite and online auction services for the sale of heavy plant machinery. Headquartered in Dromore, Co. Tyrone, with sites in Leeds and Germany, the firm provides a platform for the sale of goods across the UK, Europe, Asia, Africa as well as North and South America.

Last year, Invest NI support helped the company to gain new business in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. As a result of this activity, Euro Auctions has increased its turnover by 15 per cent. Having identified significant additional sales potential in Spain, Euro Auctions is now planning to open a new auction site in Valencia to fully exploit these opportunities.

Mary Gormley, Manager of Invest NI’s Western Regional Office, commented: “This development into European markets highlights the progress Euro Auctions has made following its substantial investment last year. The new facility in Spain will offer Euro Auctions the chance to maximise new business opportunities and significantly boost export sales.”

Jonnie Keys, General Manager of Euro Auctions commented: “Invest NI support helped us to confidently access new markets and Spain in particular has exceeded our expectations. We now believe that establishing a facility in Spain will prove to be essential in growing our level of business there and in buoyant markets further afield. The facility will be launched 10 December 2010 and we are already predicting 15% growth in sales by 2012.”
