Who exhibited


Bombardier Aerospace


Bombardier Belfast specialises in the design, manufacture and after-market support of complex composite and metallic aero structures, including wings, fuselages and engine nacelles. It has over 40 years’ experience in developing advanced composites technologies and, since 1989, has significantly extended its capabilities through a focused investment programme of over £2.65 billion. In addition to supplying Bombardier’s families of business and commercial aircraft, Bombardier Belfast produces aircraft structures and nacelles for other international manufacturers.


JW Kane Engineering


J W Kane Precision Engineering Ltd is an aerospace precision machining subcontractor based in Portadown. It specialises in the machining and assembly of complex aero structures and aero engine components to customers in the UK and Europe. J W Kane is an AS9100 certified supplier with Airbus and Bombardier approvals and has held SC21 Silver award status since 2012.


McAuley Precision


McAuley Precision is an AS9100 certified component manufacturing company and has recently been awarded SC21 Bronze supplier status. Capabilities include programming, precision machining and turning, tubular manipulation, sheet metal fabrication and assembly of aerospace components. Equipment includes 3-5 axis milling up to a 1200mm envelope, Turn/ Mill up to 3m and Turn/ Mill multitask with up to 9 axis functionality. AS9100, ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 accredited.


Moyola Precision Engineering


Moyola is an AS9100 approved premier supplier of 5 axis detailed components, kits, sub-assemblies, fixtures and tooling. Full logistical management of materials and sub-contract operations is also provided. Customer approvals include Airbus, BAE Systems, Bombardier, Spirit Aerosystems and GE Aviation. Moyola also manufactures Boeing components. Technologies include DST Ecospeed F 2035 6 axis machining centres (3.5x2.0m), Starrag FHT and XTC800X machines, Grob 550 machines, numerous Mazak Intregrex machines; supported by 8 Catia v5 CADCAM programmers.


Resonate Testing


Resonate Testing provides a range of vibration & shock, fire, flammability and environmental testing services to multiple engineering sectors, for clients worldwide. Its kerosene based fire lab undertakes complex power plant testing with combined conditions including vibration, airflows, pressure differentials and with fluids flowing. Its stand-alone vibration lab is based around an air-cooled 4” stroke shaker table, with in-house capabilities to design and fabricate fixtures for complex test units. Resonate conducts testing for engineering development and qualification purposes and is UKAS accredited to ISO17025, certified to ISO9001:2015, and listed by the FAA. Resonate Testing is a subsidiary of the Nacelle Group, which includes Engineering Services via Nacelle Systems Consultancy (NSC). The organisation has 20+ years’ experience in aerospace engineering.




Thales UK is a world-leading innovator across the Aerospace, Defence, Ground Transportation, Security and Space industries. Thales in Belfast is the centre of excellence for missile systems design, development and manufacturing within the Thales Group, and has been a world leading provider of short range weapon systems for over 60 years. This heritage of expertise in precision engineering and manufacturing is now being utilised in the Space arena for manufacturing Electric Space propulsion systems.


United Performance Metals

The following companies visited the show


BASE Group


BASE has been providing illuminating answers to the European and US Aerospace market since 2000 and is renowned for airframe structural design and analysis, serving many of the biggest names in aerospace and defence. It designs structures in both metallic and composite materials to solve safety, cost and delivery challenges. Key areas of expertise include airframe primary and secondary structures, aircraft interior products and engine nacelles and systems. Specialist expertise in composite test programmes, repair and design.


Causeway Aero


Causeway Aero Limited has been formed by four SC21 accredited Northern Ireland aerospace companies in response to industry demand for suppliers who can offer a breadth of capability, design to certification, to enable more complex work packages to be undertaken. The companies, BASE, Denroy Plastics, Moyola Precision Engineering and Aerospace Metal Finishers are well established with extensive aerospace approvals and a broad customer base including Airbus, BAE Systems, Bombardier, Boeing, GKN and Spirit. Each company continues to operate independently as well as participating in Causeway Aero.

The structure is unique, has the full support of ADS and Invest Northern Ireland and is aligned to the Aerospace Growth Partnership strategy.


Centre for Competitiveness


The Centre for Competitiveness is the ADS SC21 strategic partner for Northern Ireland & Ireland and offers a full range of SC21 programmes, AS9100 standards implementation, and aerospace consultancy. It is the in-country partner for EFQM for Northern Ireland and Ireland, and manages the total EFQM portfolio on the island of Ireland. The Centre offers a full lean service support programme, Six Sigma and quality improvement tools, methods, training and consultancy.


Denroy Plastics


Denroy Plastics is a design, engineering and contract manufacturing business specialising in plastics injection moulding, with particular expertise in engineering grade thermoplastic composite production, at the core of modern aircraft manufacturing. Denroy has a wide range of 37 moulding machines offering flexibility in product sizes and materials processed. Denroy supplies to a number of sectors including aerospace and defence. Through consistently high levels of performance as demonstrated by Denroy’s SC21 Silver status, the company has positioned itself as a key supplier in all its chosen sectors with an impressive customer portfolio including Thales, BAE Systems & Chemring. In addition, Denroy has established itself as a specialist within the aerospace sector with contracts currently in place with a number of major aircraft companies including Bombardier, Airbus, GKN, Spirit, Triumph etc.


McGreevy Engineering


McGreevy Engineering offers a range of CNC machining capability from 3 to 5 axis with bed sizes up to 3 meters enabling it to produce quality machined parts in aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass, Invar, titanium and mild steel. The company is investing in new capability, is AS9100 certified and has current capacity for both rapid response and production. SC21 Bronze accreditation is planned for 2017/18.


RTA Ireland Ltd


RTA Ireland is a sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, warehousing and distribution company. A high emphasis on service delivers tailored lean solutions into production processes from line-side feed, Kanban maintenance, and production kits delivered to pull signals. The quick reaction service reduces lead times on machined/formed components by over 80%. Services may be combined with RTA’s supplier managed inventory and mechanical assembly operations to provide sub-assemblies that consolidate supply chains, reduce FOD risk, and maximise efficiency. RTA’s QMS is AS9120 and AS9100 certified, and has attained SC21 Silver and EFQM 4-Star Recognising Excellence status.

The Northern Ireland Space Office


The Northern Ireland Space Office (NISO) acts as a facilitator for the development of the space cluster and capabilities in Northern Ireland on behalf of Invest Northern Ireland, the Regional Business Development Agency. NISO creates opportunities for regional industry, research institutions and government to better understand and benefit from space sector programs and activities to engage with global space sector stakeholders.




Yelo manufactures automated test equipment. With an in-house team of mechanical, electronic and software engineers, it specialises in burn-in & life test equipment for photonic devices, especially laser diodes. It designs and manufactures a range of other test equipment including test fixtures/jigs for functional and bed of nails testing and high voltage test enclosures. Yelo has experience working within the aerospace industry and all design and manufacturing is done in its Northern Ireland facility.
