Companies who use Invest Northern Ireland’s Business Information Centre (BIC) find it easier to increase sales and choose the right export markets.

Invest NI’s BIC holds research covering both consumer and industrial markets, and several resources focusing on the food and drink sector. Our service provides up-to-date research which can help businesses to make decisions about their products, explore packaging ideas, and develop marketing messages which will resonate with their consumers.

To help companies in the North West, we are piloting access to our BIC from our Regional office in Timberquay, Strand Road, Derry. Many local companies have already used this service to research new markets and identify where the best opportunities are for their businesses in key export markets. The service also gives key data on what consumers are looking for in growth sectors and how consumers are changing.

What information is available?

Companies can access the most up-to-date information on a vast range of markets, sectors, companies and countries including:

  • Markets: industry reports worldwide, including key players, market size, forecasts and key trends, providing the data needed to compete in international markets
  • Companies: Financial data, contact, activity and directory details, to help companies identify new customers, suppliers and competitors
  • Legal Agreements: Templates of business agreements, such as agents and distributorship contracts
  • Other Business information: Details of newspapers, trade publications, and trade fairs, guidance on import/export procedures, potential funding sources, and business opportunities. Signposting to relevant sources, such as the exporting guidance on nibusinessinfo.co.uk

Research available from this service has been produced by market analysts who are experts in their sector, and are experienced in analysing the factors which will help companies identify the best opportunities and prepare for future threats.
