Sam Knox, Invest NI, with Kerry Smyth of Fastank, on the Northern Ireland Capability Stand at Atlantic Ireland.
We were on the road again recently with our Northern Ireland Capability Stands, which we use to help promote the expertise of local engineering companies in energy engineering sectors.
In early November we were at the Atlantic Ireland Conference and Exhibition in Dublin, which focussed on Ireland's offshore hydrocarbon potential.
The Northern Ireland Capability Stand gave six local companies a presence at the exhibition.
Their aim was to gain an understanding of how and when the oil and gas market will be developed and what the supply chain opportunities will be.
Following that we headed to the Oil & Gas UK PILOT Share Fair in Aberdeen with 12 Northern Ireland companies. Aberdeen is a hub for global oil and gas companies. This was a brilliant opportunity for local companies to meet with leading contractors in the sector and their Tier 1 supply chain members to discuss their procurement requirements and methods.
The companies attended 45 pre-arranged one-to-one meetings with Tier 1 offshore developers including BP, Shell, Bibby Offshore, Apache, Dana, AMEC and Technip.
