In the wake of the boom in Northern Ireland’s creative industries, we really are punching above our weight in terms of talent, skills and the multitude of award winning productions being recognised right around the globe.

Northern Ireland is internationally renowned as an amazing film location and with this recent success in our screen industry we cannot help but be enthused about how far our creative industries have come.

Most famously, Northern Ireland is the home of HBO’s awarding winning TV series Game of Thrones and hot on its heels is the recent success of local film making team Michael Lennox, Ronan Blaney and producer Brian J Falconer and their impressive rise to stardom with the short film Boogaloo & Graham.

Yet another example of Northern Ireland's thriving creative industry, the film recently won a BAFTA for 'British Short Film' and was made with the support of Northern Ireland Screen. The film makers had been hoping to repeat the success of Oscar winning local production, The Shore, but narrowly missed out on a prestigious Academy Award in the Live Action Short Film category. Nonetheless their recognition in this category is a massive honour and bonus to Northern Ireland.

In March 2015, Invest NI will be leading a trade mission to Austin Texas to showcase emerging talent at SxSouth West. This trade mission will provide 15 Northern Ireland businesses with five days of compelling presentations, panel sessions provide hands-on training as well as big-picture analysis of the future of the digital industry. The film conference and festival will champion the vitality, innovation and opportunity that drive entertainment and media and boldly tackles the evolution of all aspects of “film” today.

The music conference and festival is arguably the largest and most important music industry conference and showcasing event in the annual calendar. A packed music programme includes a definitive programme of keynotes, seminars and workshops as well as a multitude of showcases featuring over 1,500 officially invited international showcasing artists. The Trade Show will also provide Northern Ireland businesses with invaluable daytime networking, meeting and exhibition opportunities.
