Why Canada?

Canada is an attractive market. It has a similar business culture to Northern Ireland, and its consumers and businesses buy similar products. It has a population of approximately 36 million, 90% of whom live within 200km of the United States border.

Canada is an affluent, high-tech industrial society with a market-oriented economy, low inflation and high living standards. As part of the North American Free Trade Area, breaking into the Canadian market can act as a springboard into the huge US market and also the Mexican market.

Key Canadian sectors are:

  • Aerospace
  • Biotechnology
  • Business services
  • Defence & security
  • Entertainment & tourism
  • Food & drink
  • Hi-tech
  • Real Estate industries
