Business community encouraged to participate in enterprise initiative
Invest Northern Ireland is encouraging more small businesses to increase sales and performance by taking advantage of its Growth Programme.
Part of Invest NI’s range of enterprise development initiatives, the Growth Programme is specifically tailored to help any small businesses which are currently selling products and services locally, have reached VAT turnover and have the potential to generate sales outside Northern Ireland.
Ian Murphy, Invest NI’s Managing Director of Clients and Entrepreneurship, said: “The Growth Programme can help Northern Ireland businesses to improve their profitability, boost their sales through exports and reach their full potential. It is easy to register and I would urge businesses to do so now to help secure the future success of their business.
“The Programme gives companies access to expert advice, training and mentoring in specific areas such as marketing, negotiation skills, exporting and online sales. Customer care and financial management are other key aspects of the initiative, and fostering innovation is central to the Programme activities.”
Mr Murphy continued: “Right from the outset, participants are assigned to a business advisor. The needs of each individual enterprise are assessed and a specific action plan is developed on the basis of these particular business requirements. Entrepreneurs on the Programme take part in practical workshops and have access to advisors who have real-life experience in growing their own businesses.
“There are also opportunities for participants to network with and learn from other businesses. For those enterprises which have particularly strong potential to grow through exports, intensive one-to-one support is provided to fast track their commercial success.”
