£2 million investment at Invest NI business parks

Invest Northern Ireland has invested almost £2 million to develop serviced sites for industrial use at five business parks across Northern Ireland.

The sites at Antrim Technology Park, Halfpenny Valley Business Park, Lurgan, Wattstown Business Park, Coleraine, Global Point Business Park, Newtownabbey and Trooperslane Industrial Estate, Carrickfergus, will collectively provide some 30 acres of serviced land to support economic development.

Mel Chittock, Invest NI Executive Director, Finance and Internal Services, said: “The investment has opened up additional areas of land at five existing Invest NI business parks. These are sites which are currently accommodating many small and medium sized businesses and where demand for additional space from both local companies and inward investors is high.

“At a time when we are working to support businesses through the downturn with our Boosting Business initiative, it is also important that the necessary business infrastructure is in place in preparation for the upturn in the economy. This will allow companies to access the high quality serviced sites that they need to support the set up and growth of sustainable businesses.”

The sites developed through this investment will be made available to companies that are working with Invest NI and which have strong growth plans in the medium to long term.
