Invest NI welcomes Economic Pact

Jun 14, 2013

Welcoming the announcement of the Economic Pact, Alastair Hamilton, CEO of Invest NI said: “This Economic Pact includes a broad range of positive measures that will deliver real benefit to businesses throughout Northern Ireland as we continue to rebuild and rebalance our economy.

“We are particularly pleased to see that our 100% Assisted Areas Status has been retained. This is very welcome news as this allows Invest NI to continue to offer financial support to businesses post 2013, which will help drive new first time investment and ongoing business expansion right across Northern Ireland.

“The Government’s pledge to work with the Executive to improve the uptake in Northern Ireland of UK wide schemes aimed at improving business access to finance further strengthens the existing support available to business under our Access to Finance initiative.  The announcement of further support to our strategically important Aerospace sector and the Prime Minister’s commitment to return later this year for a post G8 Investment Conference are all good news.

“We welcome the Economic Pact and we look forward to working with the NI Executive and our economic development partners to ensure that we capitalise on these opportunities for the benefit of businesses and the Northern Ireland economy as a whole."
