In 2020, Asia’s GDP overtook the GDP of the rest of the world combined. By 2030, the territory is expected to contribute roughly 60% of global growth.
Asia Pacific will also be responsible for the overwhelming majority (90%) of the 2.4 billion new members of the middle class entering the global economy.
The majority of that GDP growth will come from not only China (the world's second largest economy) but also from Southeast Asian countries like: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam; and the Northeast Asian countries of Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
Invest NI’s Asia Pacific team is particularly focused on the below sectors:
- Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering
- Life & Health Sciences
