Invest NI, Belfast City Council and Digital Catapult NI are inviting eligible companies to apply to participate in the 2019 Trade Mission to South by Southwest® (SXSW).
SXSW® offers the unique convergence emerging technologies. It is an essential destination for global professionals, showcases, screenings, exhibitions and a variety of networking opportunities. Fostering creative and professional growth alike, SXSW® is the premier destination for discovery.
Northern Ireland has always been well represented at SXSW®. In 2018 we supported 11 companies with a number of companies offered Demo opportunities in the British Music Embassy and on the Great Britain and Northern Ireland group stand. We are in the planning stages for 2019 with a number of NI companies submitting panel session proposals to SXSW®.

SXSW® Conference Schedule Overview - There are over 25 conference tracks for 2019, including, for the first time, tracks dedicated to Experiential Storytelling, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency and Cities/Government/Politics.
SXSW® Pitch - The eleventh annual SXSW® Pitch Event (formerly SXSW® Accelerator) will take place in front of a live audience and panel of expert judges to discover advancements in various sectors of emerging technology. The deadline is 15th November 2018.
Release It - SXSW® Release It provides a platform for companies to launch a new and innovative product or service during a pitch competition at the SXSW® Conference. A panel of hand-picked judges, comprised of technology experts, venture capitalists and high-profile media will select the product or service most likely succeed in the marketplace. Applications open 12th November 2018. The deadline is 21st January 2019.

Invest NI clients will be offered an opportunity to demo their product or service at SXSW®. Clients who have been accepted to pitch at SXSW® pitch competitions may also be offered complimentary formal pitch training.

Companies who have exceeded their De Minimis aid limit will be unable to claim assistance towards travel, accommodation and in-market support for this mission. The maximum De Minimis aid any single recipient can receive is €200,000 (cash grant equivalent) over a 3 year fiscal period.
